Dressmaking

The dressmaking course opens a world of possibilities for making clothes. Start with a straightforward design to help build your confidence and you will learn...

• how to read a dressmaking pattern
• the tools you'll need to be successful
• the importance of grainlines
• how to take your measurements
• how to choose a pattern size
• and much, much more

Whether you are new to dressmaking or want to extend your skills this will be a great course for you. From the second half of the first week you will be working on your own project with individual, targeted support from Rebecca.

At Sew & Tell you are free to choose which pattern you wish to make

Rebecca will guide you through the different stages helping you to understand the instructions. You only need to bring

• your own sewing machine
• your chosen pattern (message us if you would like to check if it's suitable)
• your fabric (pre-washed and ironed)
• thread
• it is also advisable to bring a basic sewing kit

Zips, buttons and interfacing can be discussed at the first class if you wish. If you are installing an invisible zip please buy one 5cm longer than stated on the pattern envelope.

All dressmaking courses are just £195

Prefer to pay in instalments? No problem.
Pay a first instalment of £75 then 2 further instalments of £60 and have the final balance paid 4 weeks before your course starts.

Each day is from 10am - 4.30pm
We'll take a 30 min lunch break so please remember to bring your packed lunch with you.
There are no small shops near our venue but you could drive to Clock Tower Retail Park nearby if needed.
